KOTR Results 07/07/07

1 -- BOOKER T vs. RANDY ORTON

Orton didn't waste any time trying to score a pin to get himself an easy pass to the next round for a couple of 1 and 2 counts. Orton put a sleeperhold on Booker but Booker counter it with the book end on Orton very early on the match. Booker made a cover for a 2 count, Orton came back with a deadly clothesline. Orton applied a resthold, but booker didn't tap out. Orton applied a leg grapevine and he tried pinning Booker's shoulders to the mat, but to no avail. Booker made a comeback and landed a foot kick to the chin. He then made a cover for a nearfall. Booker mad hit Orton in the stomach then pushed himself into the ropes for the scissors kick but Orton countered right into the RKO for the 1, 2, 3 win.

Backstage, we had an interview with Chris Masters. He said that he will be the next King Of The Ring and that tonight he's main weapon will be the masterlock.

2 -- MATT HARDY vs. CHRIS MASTERS

Hardy went for a waist lock after the opening bell, but Masters quickly pushed him down to the mat. Hardy went for a kick, but Masters counter it with a clothesline. Masters then grabbed Hardy's leg and smached it into the mat after some hard punches and leg shots for quite a while. Masters went for a splash on the corner but missed and ate the ringpost. Hardy hit the side effect on Masters, followed by his trademark leg drop from the second rope for a 2 count. Hardy then made the sign for the twist of fate and by taking Masters by the neck, Masters counter it for the masterlock hold. Hardy screamed in pain for plenty of seconds until he pushed Masters back into the ropes making Masters take his left arm out of the masterlock for Hardy to get out of the lock and roll Masters into a small package for a 1, 2, 3 comeback win.

Afterward, Masters couldn't believe that Hardy tricked him into the ropes and stud pissed in the ring while Hardy raised his hands outside the ring as the winner to move into the next round.

Backstage, we saw Super Crazy on his way into the ring when from nowhere Mr. Kennedy attacked him with some kind of a glass, by breaking it in Super Crazy's skull and busting him open, after a couple of hard shots from Kennedy to Super Crazy, security break things up and Kennedy smiling walked towards the ring.

Lashley came out for the match. Then Kennedy's music came up, he came ready with a mic and said "Unfortunately, Super Crazy cannot compete tonight but Lashley that doesn't make you a lucky pass winner like Finlay, it makes you face Mrrrrrr.... Kennedy...Kennedy". Kennedy walked the ramp to face Lashley in a match made by him.

The bell sound and Kennedy scoop right under the ropes, Kennedy went for a clothesline but Lashley countered by rolling up Kennedy with a small package for the 1, 2, 3 win. Lashley celebrated the quick victory, while Kennedy could not believe that he had been pinned twice in less than 30 seconds by 2 different opponents this week. Kennedy then walked up the ramp with no words.

Out in the ring we can see the United States Title 20 feet about the ring for the 5 Man ladder match for the title, Mark Henry was the first to walk out to the ring, he was looking at his title the entire entrance, he was followed by Ric Flair, Eugene, Kane and finally Batista.

The match went on fast. Batista went for Henry taking him out of the ring with a clothesline. In the ring Kane took care of Flair and Eugene with hard shots to the face and body. Batista outside tried to irish wip Henry into the steel steps but Henry counter it by smashing Batista into the steel steps. Henry then got inside the ring with a ladder and hit Kane from behind with the ladder knocking him down. Eugene tried with some shots to the back of Henry but Henry counter with a ladder shot of his own. Henry then smashed Flair with the ladder on the courner. Henry seeing that everyone was out, he placed the ladder and started to go up. Batista got back in the ring when Henry barely touched the belt Batista powerbomb Henry from the ladder into the mat. Batista twisted his knee on the impact and he rolled outside. Kane then took Batista from the throat and chokeslammed him threw the outside mat. Kane got back in and he then climmed the ladder. Eugene climmed it too. Both man fought hard up in the ladder until Flair pushed the ladder away making Kane and Eugene fall 20 feet high into the outside mat. Flair then pushed back the ladder but he saw that Henry was almost up on the corner. Flair then went and hit a deadly low blow on Henry in the corner. Flair went up the ladder and grabbed the title to become the new United States Champion.

After the match, Flair celebrated his victory, while Henry watched Flair walked away with his former US title.

The match was all Finlay. It started with a tie-up, Finlay backs Hardy into the corner, but backs off. Another lock-up, into a side head-lock, then a knockdown by Finlay. Hardy and Finlay trade working the arm, then Hardy gets Finlay down and works the right leg. In true Finlay fashion, he gets out of that predicament by kicking Hardy in the face. Finlay rams the shoulder right into Hardy in the corner and lays in some uppercuts. The Irishman must be inebriated, because he starts trash talking Hardy. Finlay applies the Yokozuna Memorial Nerve Hold on Hardy. Finlay applies a half-Boston crab and was RIGHT THERE to use the ropes for leverage but didn’t. He drags Hardy back to the middle of the ring, and Finlay puts it on again. Finlay puts all his body weight right on that right leg, working the Indian Death Lock. Hardy gets to the ropes to break the move. Finlay hits a Vader bomb on Hardy, but when he tries to back to the leg, Hardy pushes him over the top rope to the outside. Hardy jumps out from the top rope, knocking Finlay out. Then Hardy throws Finlay back in the ring. Whip into the buckle, and Hardy clothesline Finlay. The Side Effect is applied by Hardy for a 2 count. Hardy then climbs into the second rope and is about to hit the leg drop when Finlay counters with a punch in the stomach. Finlay goes for a superplex from the top rope to Hardy but Hardy counters with a push into the mat followed by a drop kick from the top rope for another 2 count. Hardy signals the twist of fate and Hornswaggle enters the ring, and Hardy hits the little man with a punch. Finlay, from behind, try to nail Hardy in the back with the Shillaleigh, but Hardy countered with a leg shot and the twist of fate for the 1, 2, 3 win.

Lashley came out for the match, followed by Orton. Orton got into the ring when the ring bell. But then he smiled and walked away from Lashley. The fans boo him and the ref started the count. Lashley didn't like the idea and went after Orton. The ref counted 3, Lashley hit Orton in the back. Then he took Orton by the head and Orton countered with a shot at the stomach followed by a low blow and a irish wip into the ring post. The ref counted 8 and Orton quickly ran into the ring. The count was 9 and Lashley moved slowly. The ref said 10 and Lashley stud up to touch the low rope of the ring but didn't got in. The ref said to ring the bell and by count out Randy Orton took the lucky win.

WINNER -- RANDY ORTON

Afterward, Orton walked out the winner and Lashley watched him with eyes of a dead man.

Backstage we caught up with John Cena and we asked him if he was prepared for this champion of champions match now that is he's second time and the first one was not a good one for him. "I'm more than ready, for this one" said Cena "All I can say is that the champ is here".

This match is no countouts or disqualifications. All 3 wrestlers looked at each others and then raise their titles to each others. Edge ran into CM Punk and hits the spear early, to leave Cena with Edge. As the match progresses, the fans slowly turn on Cena. Edge put Cena in the sleeper, but Cena countered with a side slam. Cena attempted the FU on Edge, but the World champ countered with a DDT. Cena tried the STFU. CM Punk finally got back into the match by breaking Cena's STFU. This is one of those matches where the fans don't know whom to pull for, and appear to be warming up to Punk. Punk then took Cena while Edge catch some rest from the STFU and threw Cena into the ropes, Cena docked from a clothesline shot and then Edge who was resting near the ropes, pulled the upper rope and Cena went hitting the outside mat. Punk rammed Cena's head into the Raw announcer's table on the outside, but regrouped and nailed Punk's head into the announcer's table. Five knuckle shuffle on Punk. Cena then took Punk up the announcer's table grab him and FU him into the table breaking it in half. Edge then took the world title belt and hit Cena over the back when Cena got up. Edge pulled Cena into the ring and waited until Cena got up. Edge ran for a spear but missed and hit the corner. Cena then grabbed Edge for the FU but Edge counter it into a small package and holding the ropes with no ref looking the count was 1, 2, 3 for a surprising victory for Edge.

After the match Cena watched his champion of champions dream go away from him again as Edge left the ring smiling and with a great victory on his back.

The cage started to fall down the 2 ladders where placed in the ring and the briefcase with a future contract for any title was inside the briefcase hanging 20 feet high in the air.

Hardy came out first, he seem to be tired and hurt. He was followed by Orton who seem to be in great condition. The match started with a lock up and Hardy shoves Orton but Orton does the same. Orton throws some rights and avoids a Hardy clothesline as he dropkick Hardy on the back. Hardy got tossed into the steel cage 2 times by Orton. After a couple of body shots by Orton, Randy climbs the top rope and hits a big cross body block to Hardy. Randy placed the ladder and goes up the ladder to be a step away from the title but Hardy gets a low blow followed by a powerbomb from the ladder. Hardy then slammed Orton off the cage and threw some rights and lefts at him in the corner. Orton is whipped to the corner but he countered it for a clothesline hard down to the mat. Orton then slammed Hardy against the cage. Orton holds Hardy's head against the cage and yells at Hardy. Orton gives Hardy a hard knee lift a few seconds later and he climbs him to pummel him.
Orton continues to punish Hardy badly with big slams and shots to the face. Orton hovers above Hardy as he wrenches his neck. Hardy starts to climb to his feet as he throws elbows into Orton in hopes of getting free but as he runs off the ropes a big clothesline from Orton is waiting for him.Orton continues to beat away at the head of Hardy with a huge ladder shot into the skull. Hardy goes flying into the cage again. The blood starts to drip from Hardy's skull as we all might witness a easy win for Orton. Orton then starts to climb the ladder again and almost inches away from the title, Hardy pushed the ladder away and Orton felt from the ladder right into the steel cage. Both man got up, Orton goes to get Hardy but Hardy replies with a boot to the gut followed by many shots and uppercuts as the crowd goes crazy. Hardy comes off the ropes though and runs into a sidewalk slam. Orton climbs the ladder but Hardy again knocks him off and Orton again lands on the steel cage. Hardy after smashing Orton twice into the steel cage, Hardy climbs the ladder but Orton sits up and throws him off. Orton calls for the RKO but Hardy countered it for a huge Side Effect. Hardy climbs the ladder and inches away from the briefcase, Orton pushed the ladder so hard that Hardy flew in the air to grap into the steel cage and not have any damage. As he hang to it, the ladder stud right next to him and from nowhere he took the top of the ladder and position it below his right arm and shoulder. While Orton was taking a breather in the mat he made a bulldog move with the ladder and smashed it into Orton's skull to be an incredible move. The fans where amazed by Hardy's move and Hardy put back the ladder and start climbing it, Orton started moving but slow. Hardy touched the briefcase and Orton again pushed the ladder but this time Hardy hold to the briefcase in the air. Orton from the mat watched Hardy hang to the briefcase. Hardy looked at the briefcase and smiled as he with his left hand pulled it off and grab it to hit the mat and become the new King of the Ring.

Afterward, Orton stood up to Hardy but left the cage with no words. Hardy then showed the briefcase to the fans as he climbed up the cage in celebration.
